A calculated driver is a labor driver that uses numerical constants or mathematical formulas in the absence of static or volume drivers.
There are times when you may want to create a formula to derive a driver value that is then applied to the standard. We created Calculated Drivers to help fulfill these need. For example: We want Opus to calculate the ratio between one static driver and another. To do this we would create a calculated driver with a formula such as: [Stat Driver 1] / [Stat Driver 2]. The result for this formula will be calculated on the fly and applied to the linked standard each time a validation or export is run. As the Stat Driver 1 and Stat Driver 2 values vary by location and date, so will the calculated driver output and ultimately the standards output. More complex formulas involving multiple drivers and math operations may also be created.
