Welcome to the Healthcare WFM Blog

by | Jul 27, 2011

Hey Folks!

WELCOME to Axsium ’s new Healthcare WFM blog. For those of you who are curious, “WFM” stands for Workforce Management and, at least in terms of the things we’ll be talking about in this blog, assume it’s for topics like:

Employee Scheduling Timecards Attendance Tracking Leave Administration Productivity EVERYTHING related to these subjects in healthcare environment (like position management, etc.)

That should tell you: If it’s a subject related to how you manage your employees (and your business!) in healthcare, we’re going to talk about it here. From a format standpoint, it is our hope that we have an engaging blog that is both relevant and current and that you feel inclined to post comments about.

You can expect regular posts with a specific topic in mind, as well as short notes and comments from time to time. So, who should be reading this? You. Was that too specific?! We intend this to be relevant for healthcare executives and healthcare management – especially those responsible for WFM systems or for the employees themselves.

So that means:

Nursing, IT, Finance, HR

That’s pretty much everyone, right? Well, that’s just it: WFM should be a relevant subject to just about everyone. Whether you are responsible for employees getting paid correctly or employees showing up to work in the right place/time or finding the right system combination to translate what happens with your hospital workforce into meaningful data that drives your budgets, you should be interested in this blog!

Yes, we know that clinical systems are perceived as THE most important thing in healthcare. And clinical systems will ALWAYS get more attention and dollars than business systems. That’s not going to change. BUT unless nurses are being replaced with technology for performing direct patient care, healthcare WFM systems should not be ignored! So there you go – We’re not going to be ignoring them here. For my part, I’m looking forward to seeing all of your comments and watching this blog grow into a community.

Also please note that Axsium is also launching a retail-focused blog here  If you just love the subject of WFM in general, make sure you follow both blogs! If you ever need to contact me directly, feel free to email me (I’m Chris Flanders, and for everyone I haven’t met yet, I hope to meet you soon.) Make sure you mention the blog!
